Acceptable Use Policy

Boardwalk is operated by Robot Networks Inc. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to every account, organization, API key, model deployment, application, and end user that accesses Boardwalk. It is part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for placing appropriate safeguards between your end users and the Service.

1. Lawful use

You may not use the Service to violate applicable law or another person's rights, or to facilitate conduct you know or reasonably should know is unlawful. This includes violations of sanctions and export controls, privacy and data-protection law, consumer-protection law, intellectual-property rights, and rules governing regulated products and services.

2. Child safety and sexual abuse

You may not use the Service to create, facilitate, solicit, possess, or distribute:

  • Child sexual abuse material or content that sexualizes, exploits, grooms, traffics, or otherwise endangers a minor, including synthetic or AI-generated material.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual extortion, or sexual content created or shared without the depicted person's consent.
  • Instructions or services intended to enable child exploitation or sexual violence.

We may report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement as required by law.

3. Violence, weapons, and physical harm

You may not use the Service to:

  • Make credible threats, promote terrorism, or coordinate violent wrongdoing.
  • Provide operational assistance that meaningfully facilitates the construction or use of weapons intended to harm people, including chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons.
  • Encourage self-harm or provide personalized instructions that facilitate it.
  • Track, stalk, dox, or target a person in a way likely to cause physical harm.

4. Cybersecurity abuse and malicious code

You may not use the Service to:

  • Develop, deploy, or distribute malware, ransomware, destructive payloads, credential theft, botnets, or tools primarily intended for unauthorized access or disruption.
  • Conduct phishing, credential stuffing, brute force, denial-of-service, destructive exploitation, or unauthorized vulnerability scanning.
  • Access or interfere with systems, accounts, networks, or data without the owner's authorization.

Good-faith defensive security work is permitted when you own the target or have explicit authorization and your activity does not harm others. Research against Boardwalk itself must follow our Security Disclosure Policy.

5. Fraud, deception, and manipulation

You may not use the Service to:

  • Defraud, scam, phish, impersonate, or obtain money, credentials, or property by deceit.
  • Generate or distribute deceptive communications at scale, including fake invoices, fraudulent support messages, or fabricated endorsements.
  • Misrepresent AI-generated content as authentic where doing so is intended or reasonably likely to cause material harm.
  • Manipulate civic participation or voting through targeted deception, impersonation, or knowingly false information about when, where, or how to vote.

6. Spam and abusive automation

You may not use the Service to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages or evade consent, unsubscribe, or sender-identity rules.
  • Create fake accounts, reviews, engagement, followers, or other inauthentic activity at scale.
  • Scrape, harvest, or contact people in violation of law, contractual restrictions, or technical access controls.
  • Operate workloads designed primarily to degrade another service or burden its users.

7. Privacy, identity, and confidential information

You may not use the Service to:

  • Collect, infer, expose, or use personal or confidential information without authorization and a lawful basis.
  • Identify an anonymous person, infer highly sensitive traits, or conduct biometric identification or surveillance in violation of law.
  • Process payment-card data, protected health information, government identification numbers, or other regulated data unless you have confirmed that your use and agreement with us support the applicable requirements.

8. Harassment, hate, and exploitation

You may not use the Service to facilitate targeted harassment, threats, coercion, exploitation, or abuse; to promote or support hatred or violence against people based on a protected characteristic; or to create content intended to humiliate or endanger a specific person.

9. High-impact decisions and professional services

You may not use model output as the sole basis for decisions that determine a person's eligibility, selection, or access in employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, healthcare, legal services, or public benefits. Any use in these areas must have a lawful basis, meaningful human review, testing appropriate to the risk, required notices and consent, and a way for affected people to contest the decision.

You may not present output as individualized medical, legal, financial, or other licensed professional advice unless a properly qualified professional reviews it and takes responsibility for the service provided.

10. Models, content, and intellectual property

You may not deploy or use:

  • A model, adapter, tokenizer, or other artifact for deployment unless you have the rights needed for Boardwalk to retrieve, host, and serve it. Calling an existing catalog model requires the rights applicable to your use of that model and its outputs.
  • The Service to publish a model without rights permitting hosted commercial inference. Only Boardwalk operators can publish catalog models; calling a catalog model does not require you to hold the publisher's separate hosting rights.
  • The Service to infringe or misappropriate copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, publicity, privacy, or other rights, or to bypass technical protection measures.

Copyright and other rights complaints may be submitted under our Abuse Reporting & Copyright Policy.

Do not submit protected health information subject to HIPAA, payment-card account data, government identification numbers, biometric identifiers, children's personal data, or other specially regulated data without a separate written agreement expressly supporting it and all required safeguards.

11. Platform integrity

You may not:

  • Evade or interfere with authentication, credit checks, metering, rate limits, concurrency limits, model visibility, deployment screening, or other safeguards.
  • Probe Boardwalk outside the boundaries of our Security Disclosure Policy.
  • Access another organization's keys, models, usage, billing, or account data.
  • Use stolen payment methods, abuse refunds or disputes, or manipulate usage records.
  • Hide an abusive end user or continue serving one after we reasonably require you to stop.

12. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and respond in proportion to their severity, history, and risk. Actions may include a warning, request for information, model removal, feature or rate restriction, key revocation, suspension, termination, preservation of relevant records, or a report to an affected provider or lawful authority. We may act immediately and without notice to stop ongoing harm, protect the Service or others, or comply with law.

Where practical, we will give you notice and an opportunity to cure a lower-severity violation. Attempts to evade an enforcement action are a separate violation.

13. Appeals and reporting

To report misuse, email legal@boardwalk.cloud or follow our reporting instructions. If we restrict or terminate your access and you believe we made a mistake, reply to the notice or email the same address with the subject "Enforcement Appeal", your account or organization identifier, and relevant context. Appeals do not prevent action required by law or needed to stop immediate harm.

14. Updates

We may update this AUP as risks, laws, and the Service change. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date and, where appropriate, communicated by email or in-product notice.
